What makes him a Power Player: The developer is making a big difference not just in downtown Greensboro, but elsewhere in the region. Carroll at Bellemeade, 290 apartments and 110 hotel rooms, opened in 2019, and Carroll’s current projects include “Carroll South of Ballpark,” a $140 million project with an AC by Marriott Hotel, a 20-story office tower, apartments and retail. In east Greensboro, Carroll put together the land that attracted a Publix distribution center with up to 1,000 jobs. Carroll’s new South Rockingham County Industrial park has landed a $96 million facility and 403 future jobs from Belgian company Ontex Group, and construction has started on a 176,000-square-foot spec. One of his latest targets is a prominent development in Bozeman, Montana.
