What makes him a Power Player: The developer, known in the past for single-family and multifamily housing, is a force in job creation in Greensboro. Carroll’s South Rockingham Industrial Park on the improved U.S. 29/Interstate 74 corridor has helped trigger growth in northern Guilford County and Rockingham County with zoning and plans in the works for more than 2,000 homes near the park. Construction on Carroll South of Ballpark, a downtown Greensboro sister project to Carroll at Bellemeade planned to have an AC Hotel, apartments and retail, is expected soon. In east Greensboro, he was key in developing a site that landed a Publix distribution center that’s creating 1,000 jobs.
